Click your Start button ONCE and its menu appears |

Move your mouse OVER All Programs. It becomes SELECTED (highlighted) and its menu appears |

Making sure you stay on the SELECTED area, move your mouse ACROSS
All Programs to its menu |

Look carefully for Microsoft Office Word 2003 |

Move your mouse OVER Microsoft Office Word 2003 and, when it
becomes SELECTED, click it ONCE |

When you start your Microsoft Word PROGRAM, a new blank document automatically opens |
In the TOP LEFT corner of your screen, the Title Bar displays Document 1 |

If the Getting Started Task Pane is displayed on the RIGHT side of your screen, click its tiny Black x button
to remove it from your screen. If you don't want this task pane to appear every time you open Microsoft Word, on the Menu
Bar, click Tools and, then, Options. Click the View tab. UNDER the heading Show, click in the checkbox to the LEFT of
Startup Task Pane to de-select it |
