What next? From this point on, all typing in class and at home when early elementary school students have access to computers should be done without looking at the keyboard
Keyboarding should be practised in context with "real" projects and integration of this newly-learned skill with class curriculum work and computer use at home is easy
"I am already using the lessons with them during their projects. It is helping them to find the correct keys much more quickly."
Lisa Riehl
Computer teacher - Grades K-1
St. Paul's Lutheran School, Smithville, OH USA

First, removable adhesive dots need to be placed on the alpha keys of all class and home keyboards and the "bump" F and J dots colored to help students place their fingers correctly. This saves parents and teachers continually monitoring students' keyboarding
Then, all teachers and parents need to do is to be on hand to revise the quirky association words if a student forgets the location of a key. To do this, all they need are two "key" pages, containing all the association wordsg
A "parent pack" containing an explanatory letter (sample), the two key pages and the removable adhesive dots should be sent home with students
